Creative Crafty Chicks had their first night of creating. We first followed the directions in Bernie Berlin's book on how to make an emboss-resist card. We both made two, then realized we needed to make 6 each for the swap we were in. We didn't have enough backings to make 10 more, so we moved on to our next project, an altered magnet using UTEE. Directions are by Judi Wellnitz. I would say the night was a success. We had plenty of fun and brownies...who could ask for more!

On the family side ~ Colby (DS) took his LSAT test on Friday. He won't find out how he did until Oct 22. We are all glad the stress of taking the test is over. Sickly Ciara (DD) came home for the weekend. She and I tried the emboss-resist technique but I didn't have the correct embossing powder and the cards didn't quite come out right.

Today has been a nice crafty day. I 'altered' a domino and a pen with microbeads that I got from PennyWise.com.

Also made a few ATCs just for the fun of it. I think I'll send one of them as a RAK to a newbie to ATCs. She had me as her swap partner, so I recieved her first ever ATCS. One of the ATCs that I made has the microbeads covering the picture. The other two, I used baby wipes, that I had painted, as their backgrounds. I'm also working on painting a CD with acrylic paints, I have no idea how that will come out.

Tonight is Creative Crafty Chics Night, so I am looking forward to what we will create! Postings tomorrow :-) I think I hear the pool calling me now.....

Today I did some retail therapy at Michael's and JoAnn's. I loved it but hate how quickly my bill adds up.
Todays project was to make a larger cement leaf. I had made a small one and wanted to try a bigger leaf. This time I'm trying it out with an elephant ear leaf. Here's a picture of the two of them side by side. I have the leaf on top of plastic bags, then those are on top of a bag of bird seed to give the leaf some form. Now I just have to be patient and let it dry.....

I finished putting together the 'Beach' book, that I had created a few months ago. DH and I went to Caladesi Island this past weekend so we took plenty of pictures. I was able to use quite a few in the book.
I also altered our grocery list picture. That was an easy fix with a picture of a swan taken at Lake Morton.
